How Does Osteopathy Help Patients with Endometriosis?
Aleksandra's journey, both personally and professionally, has given her unique insight into the physical and emotional impact of endometriosis. Her work with patients is characterized by empathy, expertise and a strong desire to empower others to have a better life.
Osteopathy, especially techniques focused on the pelvis and internal structures, can provide relief for many endometriosis symptoms:
- Support for Mental Health: Gentle, manual treatment promotes well-being and relaxation.
- Pain relief and relaxation: Techniques that target the pelvic floor, reduce discomfort and improve mobility.
- Improved Circulation: Increased blood flow and lymphatic drainage reduces inflammation.
- Better organ functioning: Internal techniques loosen adhesions and restore organ mobility, relieving symptoms such as bloating and intestinal distress.
Why Osteopathy for Endometriosis?
Aleksandra's specialty in gynecological osteopathy began with her own diagnosis of endometriosis. Remarkably, it wasn't a gynecologist or general practitioner who discovered her condition - it was an osteopath.
During a specialization course, Aleksandra and Deborah practiced vaginal techniques on each other. Aleksandra experienced significant discomfort and their trainer observed limited mobility in her uterus and cervix, leading to the suspicion of advanced endometriosis.
Subsequent visits to a gynecologist and tests at the hospital confirmed stage 4 endometriosis. The results included a 5cm mass pressing on the rectum, ovarian cysts and urinary complications due to kidney reflux. This discovery, although shocking, gave Aleksandra a deeper understanding of her condition and strengthened her commitment to helping others with similar challenges.
